Alba Plano, the neo-soul and jazz artist from London announced a brand new single titled ‘Out There’ to be released on the 20th of April. The single will be taken from her upcoming EP White Lotus.
This artist is no stranger to the stage. Over the years she has toured, performed and fronted a band called Forever Amy, a project that features Amy Winehouse’s original band while also performing backing vocals for Ninja Tune’s Jordan Rakei as a side project.
Right now the time has arrived for the Sicilian-born songstress to release her own material. The EP White Lotus will blossom into the world with the soulful grooves of classic jazz and the sweet melodies of neo-soul. Taking you on a journey through stylish tones and tasteful vibrations White Lotus promises to entice your senses and bloom up your playlist.
The first single to be released ‘Out There’ will add more color to your life with dreamy piano tones, elegant vocal work and with the songs constant feeling of being alive, it will leave you to repeat this tasteful elegant tune on the daily.
Alba Plano also had the following to say about her song ‘Out There’: “it's about fears, about the limitations we hold within ourselves because it make us feel safe, because at least "we know who we are". But that's not helping when you want to grow and expand your soul, it takes a big amount of love, respect and trust for oneself to be able to see from a different perspective".
According to Alba Plano doing a lot of gigs becomes the only way to develop your true musicianship. This statement is definitely justified listening to the true progression of an artists journey through an album. Especially an EP like White Lotus that took two years to write, record and produce.
Her upcoming EP White Lotus will also feature many talented musicians from all over the jazz world that includes the likes of: Karl Rasheed-Abel, David Mrakpor, Luca Faraone, Michael Castellanos, Joao Caetano, Julian Mazzariello and many more celebrating the diversity of sound and musical experience all combined into the purity and devotion that is White Lotus
The writing and producing process for the album took a lengthy two years to complete. Karme Caruso, the keyboard player and producer for White Lotus felt the need to emphasize the soul element found in the songs as they focused on creating an EP filled with original tracks.
For example the song ‘Out There’ had extreme transformation from it’s original idea being completely re-arranged and re-recorded in a third session to get that real feel acoustic sound and earthy tones.
On the song Karme also added: “This song was a bit of a musical journey, originally arranged in a few different ways. Then we opted for a raw acoustic vibe, quite different from the sound of the other tracks on the EP."
Alba Plano’s highly anticipated release of the EP White Lotus is definitely something to look out for. Jazz and Neo-Soul will be celebrated on the 20th of April when Alba Plano’s new single ‘Out there’ taken from her upcoming EP White Lotus will be set free.
