Italian artist Caterina Barbier has gained much success under her moniker MissinCat. She was the supporting act for Amy Winehouse on her 2008 Germany Tour. She has written movie scores for movies such as Omamamia (2012), Schossgebete (2014) and the recent Italian short Film “Fragole” (2017). Her single ‘Back on My Feet’ was used by Nintendo in their German television campaign in 2009.
Her latest EP Forces has been released via OWTF Records on 15th September. The singer collaborated with 5 different artists on the album; Hundreds, Me & My Drummer, Robot Koch, La Boum Fatale and Federico Albanese. While each song on the 5-track EP has a different feel and story, the indie-pop singer retains her own original style.
Speaking of the EP, MissinCat says: “It was important to learn how to lose control. I let go to see what happens. You have to keep looking at yourself from a distance, especially during the creative process. Working in the studio, this means trying different versions and arrangements to find out what movements and developments are possible within each song.”
