The Ghibertins release evocative ‘Where Are We Now’ video

Folk-rock band Ghibertins has released their video for single ‘Where Are We Now?’off their upcoming 2017 album The Less I Know the Better. ‘Where Are We Now?’ is the 3rd single to be lifted from the album following the release of their singles ‘Breathe for Me’ and ‘The Less I Know The Better’.

The Ghibertins came into existence in 2012 with three initial members; Alessio Hofmann (voice & guitar), Alessandro Fogazzi (guitar & bass) and Lorenzo Rivabella (guitar).  They won the top award at the Velvet Mag Italian Tour Music Festival in 2016. In September they announced an expansion with Jazz guitarist Alberto Turra and drummer Daniele Capuzzi.

‘Where Are We Now?’ takes a look at the unstable political predicament the world finds itself in. The setting takes place in what looks like a quarry with the band standing far behind a sign language interpreter.  Her expressiveness emphasises the already powerful lyrics as a lamenting Alessio sings; “Ask me where is God and I’ll reply; Where’s the man? Where’s the man?”

The strongly poignant flashing images of refugees on a raft, soldiers arming themselves and suffering children, make for a heart wrenching video. The residue of buildings in a bomb-ridden Syria make the listener want to quit watching; - however the musical break at the end where missiles retract and soldiers put down their guns  makes it worth the full 4 minutes of soul stirring.
