Frequency Cowboy releases latest single ‘Win Some, Lose Some’

Classically trained pianist Frequency Cowboy has premiered his new single ‘Win Some Lose Some’ via Clash Magazine. Recorded and mixed by Stew Jackson (Massive Attack, Marc Ford) and released via Dactyl Spondee Records, 'Win Some, Lose Some' looks set to explore the same attention as his previous single 'Control' which gained support by tastemaker publications The Line of Best Fit, DIY Mag and DORK Magazine.

The new track traverses an  even more textured sound, replete through weaving together his characteristic 90’s songwriting with catchy vocals, offering a cheerful rhythmic melody, which creates a narrative defined not by words, but by mood.

A former member of underground Bristol band Termites, Sam Hurt cites a wide array of influences - ranging from Beck, Talking Heads and The Police, to Sir Was, Sonic Youth and Northern Soul. However, Frequency Cowboy has an inherent knack of drawing inspiration from these artists and weaving their influence into his own unique sound.

“The song is about finding some perspective through life's ups and downs. There is a floating surreal quality to the movement of the song, which can make the listener feel unreal or like they’re in a dream.” says Sam Hurt about the single.

Rumours abound of a video for the new track, and judging by the quirky visuals for 'Control,' the new video is something to look forward to.
